The Vicar, Tulo Raistrick
Tulo has been the vicar at St Barbara’s since May 2014. Before that, he was a curate (vicar-in-training) in a church in south London. Before becoming a vicar, Tulo worked for international development charities for 20 years, travelling all over the world, and working with local Christians in enabling them to tackle poverty and transform their communities. Tulo is married to Sarah (a local GP), and has three primary-aged children, Peter, Greg and Libby. As a family, they love playing sports, going for walks, and playing board games.
The Church Wardens are non-ordained people who are responsible, along with the vicar, for the maintenance of the church building and the ministry of the church. They are elected by the church members.
St Barbara’s currently has two church wardens:
Andrea Driver has been church warden and treasurer at St Barbara’s since 2001. She is married to Don and has three adult children and two grandchildren. Before retirement, Andrea worked for 37 years with Coventry City Council. Her position there was Street Services Officer and she dealt with abandoned vehicles and street lighting throughout the City. Previously she organised the Council’s winter gritting of all the main bus routes and main roads which took place from November to March as the weather necessitated. Andrea is a keen gardener and has had her allotment for nearly 30 years. She also enjoys knitting, lace-making, line dancing and attending gym classes. She is also an active member of CSV/ RSVP.
Ian Leitch has been a church warden at St Barbara’s since 2012. He is married to Marjorie, and has 2 adult children and 3 grandchildren. Before retirement Ian worked as a university teacher and was Director of Computing Services at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Ian’s interests include family history and genealogy. He has worked to promote human rights for many years. Ian likes reading biography.
